Magic: The Gathering Foundations launched in November 2024 as an entry-level, evergreen core set designed to stay legal in Standard well into the future. Rather than focusing on a single plane, it pulled together iconic characters and locations from across the Multiverse, pairing each color with a signature planeswalker and legendary creature. That concept extended directly to its basic lands: ten full-art "character lands," one planeswalker and one creature per color, spotlighting planes like Innistrad, Kamigawa, Dominaria, and Zendikar.
