The Lost Caverns of Ixalan

The Lost Caverns of Ixalan arrived in November 2023 as Magic's take on the underground-world trope, taking the pirate- and dinosaur-filled plane of Ixalan in an unexpected new direction. Set a year after March of the Machine, the story followed rival factions racing beneath the surface in search of cosmium, ultimately discovering that Ixalan was a hollow world lit from within by its own sun. The set's full-art basic lands reflected this subterranean turn, depicting Ixalan's newly revealed caverns, ruins, and glowing underground frontier.
